Fresh off the back of announcing their debut album Subatomic Party Cool, set for release June 2021 on Alcopop! Records, Brighton fuzz pop quartet BEACH RIOT have shared the first taste of things to come with a new single titled ‘Blush’, available to stream today through all good DSPs.
Commenting on the new single the band said: “At its heart ‘Blush’ is essentially just a soppy love song, two people recounting that magical feeling of falling for each other. I’m really into the juxtaposition of a school playground, nursery rhyme, happy melody over the top of a big old chunky fuzzy riff. I want the song to take you to a desert highway in some far away escapist world.”
To celebrate the release, the band has unveiled their very own signature beer—a raspberry blush craft beer limited to just 50 units, available from Wednesday 25th November 2020. Each order comes individually packed in a box with a die cut Beach Riot sticker, mini tour poster, and single download code for the perfect lockdown treat.

Beach Riot, who have recently added BBC Radio One’s Jack Saunders and BBC 6music’s Tom Robinson to their growing list of supporters, just last week shared news of their long-awaited debut album Subatomic Party Cool, their first full release since the 2018 Beach Riot EP.
Itching to return to the live circuit, the group also revealed a run of June 2021 UK headline tour dates, with tickets on sale now from the band’s official website: http://wearebeachriot.com/
Commenting on the album and tour news, guitarist/vocalist Rory O’Connor says: “Recording the album was the most cathartic medicine I could ever have hoped for in an otherwise desperately terrifying and uncertain time. Playing live is the reason the universe has put Beach Riot on this planet, and there’s gonna be one hell of an explosion of emotion and energy when we finally can get back on that stage and play all these new tracks to everyone.”
“Working on the album has been like a lifeline for me,” adds drummer Jonny Ross. “Having something to focus on creatively over lockdown has been so needed and I’m glad we’ve kept momentum going.”
“I think waiting until next year is the responsible thing to do,” he continues, on the band’s headline tour announcement, “as much as we do miss playing and meeting new fans. We can’t wait to get out there in the new year with new tracks in the set.”
Hotly tipped for the 2020 live circuit before the pandemic, the quartet have previously played Reading & Leeds Festival 2018 and Truck Festival 2019.
Press support from Kerrang! Magazine, CLASH, MOJO, The iNewspaper, Louder Than War and LOUDER has been bolstered by a #12 spot on the Amazing Radio Chart, an evening playlist addition from XS Manchester, plus key radio spins from Huw Stephens and Daniel P Carter at BBC Radio One, John Kennedy at Radio X, BBC Scotland’s Vic Galloway, Total Rock, legendary US station KEXP, and BBC introducing.
Previous stand alone singles ‘Wrong Impression’, ‘Tune In, Drop Out’ and ‘Robot’ have racked up over 200k plays on Spotify to date.
