FRAUDS Pay Homage To Scots Comedian Limmy In ‘Money Honey’ Video

26th March 2021

Croydon post-hardcore power duo FRAUDS are pleased to reveal the video for their new single ‘Money Honey’ which is out now on all good digital streaming platforms.

The band recently signed to Alcopop! Records, announcing that their forthcoming second album Long Spoons is scheduled for release in Summer 2021.

FRAUDS are also pleased to announce a run of Sep/Oct 2021 UK headline tour dates (see below for listings) which go on sale 10am GMT on Wednesday 30th March 2021.

Commenting on the single, vocalist and drummer Chris explains: “It was a riff that had been around the block a few times that never worked until we slowed it down and put a kind of disco beat behind it. The song almost wrote itself from a plethora of notes on my phone. These notes were written on daily commutes across London for work which informed the narrative.”

The band shot the video themselves, taking inspiration from Scottish comedian and viral sensation Limmy to beat COVID limitations. As Frauds’ songs are built to entertain, so are their videos—nothing makes the cut if it doesn’t raise an eyebrow or crack a smile.

“Limmy is a huge inspiration,” adds Chris on the video, “and when the pandemic hit I was reading his autobiography. It dawned on me that he works with huge restrictions all the time and yet comes up with ingenious set ups with just a camera and himself. We wanted to embrace the restrictions, thus the hula hoops.”

The forthcoming album’s lead single ‘Copenhagen’ was released earlier this year; a reaction to the absurd spread of misinformation which has led to a resurgence of public racism and fear around the world.

FRAUDS second album Long Spoons is released Summer 2021 via Alcopop! Records
