LIOTTA SEOUL Reveal Video For New Single ‘Medical Detectives’ Out Now

8th July 2022

Koblenz, Germany alt-rock trio LIOTTA SEOUL are pleased to reveal the video for latest single ‘Medical Detectives’ which is out now on all good digital service providers.

The track is taken from their forthcoming new album WORSE, which will be released on 4th November 2022 via KROD Records. The record is available to preorder on vinyl now: https://liottaseoul.com/shop/

Liotta Seoul’s fearsome release pace remains dangerously high with ‘Medical Detectives’, the latest in a string of sensational singles to be released from the German trio following on from previous single ‘Disgusting’, which crashed onto Spotify’s All New Rock and Alternative Noise, and Smells Like Stream Spirit playlists.

Before “Netflix & Chill”, German TV viewers had to be satisfied with linear programming, more often than not populated by American true-crime docuseries Medical Detectives. In order to overcome those awkward teenage inhibitions of physical closeness at a young age, the band’s latest single ‘Medical Detectives’ tells the story of a youthful, budding love and what eventually grows from it.

“We wanted to write a song about what it feels like to have a head over heels crush, to kiss until your lips are sore, to have your first weird sex,” says singer and guitarist Sven Int-Veen.

Especially taken in context with the single’s atmospheric video shot on analogue film, the new offering feels like the perfect soundtrack for films like Mid ‘90s or Lady Bird. A hooky lead guitar packed with Smashing Pumpkins sound steals the limelight in the chorus, which only gets a side-serving of lyrics at the very end. Clocking in under 3 minutes long, the song is the album’s gnarliest, indie-rocking number to date.

“The video is a dream-come-true for me: I love film and of course I can tell straight away if something was shot digitally or analogue. So I bought this camera from a guy who used to have a studio. Now he actually ended up in the video himself – with his wife, with whom he has been together for 60 years. They play the old couple, who for me perfectly reflect this pure love of the young couple,” says Int-Veen
