Liverpool’s ALL WE ARE Remix HAARM’s Latest Single ‘Take Me Away’

26th May 2020

Liverpool alt-pop songwriting team HAARM are pleased to reveal a very special remix of their poignant new single ‘Take Me Away’ by fellow Scousers and friends, ALL WE ARE (Double Six Records/Domino).

The original version of the track has received ongoing support at radio from BBC 6music, Radio X, Amazing Radio, BBC Introducing and more.

Commenting on the remix, Luis Santos of All We Are says: “We really enjoyed working on this remix for HAARM; the steel pans reeled us in but we stayed for the infectious feel good chorus. Our take plays a little bit with the light and darkness within the song—it was important to retain the satisfying pay off in the end, but we made sure to add some unexpected elements!”

Haarm guitarist and vocalist Chris McIntosh adds: “I’ve always been a huge fan of remixes, going back to the days when you’d buy a single and the b-sides would often be different remixes of it. I love the idea of giving another artist the stems and letting them run wild with it. When it’s your track you’ve played it to death in the studio, so to give it to somebody else and hear the elements that they focused on and picked out is fascinating to me.”

“I’ve been a huge fan of All We Are since the very start of their career, so when they agreed to give ‘Take Me Away’ the treatment I was absolutely thrilled and intrigued to hear what they were going to do with it. I love what they’ve come back with—it’s as if the sun has gone in, and it’s time to come back from the beach and get ready for the night.”

The remix comes accompanied by a brand new animated visual created by Dave Flynn, who says of working with the band: “My inspiration really came just from hearing the remix for the first time—it feels like it’s constantly moving and pulsating before that massive chorus, so I just wanted the visuals to complement that.”

A sharp juxtaposition to their usual sombre fare, the original version of ‘Take Me Away’ is a “psycho-tropical” sunshine anthem packed full of steel drums, feel good vibes, and escapism—the perfect sonic remedy for a springtime bursting into life whilst being stuck inside the house.

Produced and mixed by Al Groves (Bring Me The Horizon, Paris Youth Foundation, Michael Kiwanuka) at the legendary Motor Museum recording studios on Lark Lane, Liverpool—which has given rise to smash hit records from The 1975, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, and many more—the track is the second of two singles that the trio have worked on with Groves to date, and was mastered by Mike Marsh at The Exchange.

The two previously-released singles from the band’s latest batch of tracks—‘Dahlia’ and ‘Tell Me What You Want’—both saw success on the airwaves, added to Radio X and XS Manchester evening playlists, with huge support from BBC Merseyside and Amazing Radio, as well as playlist additions and spot plays across a wide range of specialist online and regional shows.

‘Take Me Away’ is out now via all good digital service providers.
