Commenting on the track, front man Kenneth Ishak says: “This song was actually a god bit longer originally, but it’s still a very good document of our few days in the big loud room at Folkets Hus at Lilleaker, where we recorded a lot of the album live.”
“We had our friend Fridtjof do monitors in the room with us and Mads downstairs in the control room,” Ishak explains of the studio set up, elaborating on the process that the band undertook to recreate the energy and sound of their live performances, “And we had our amps turned up really loud, so everything bled into the drum microphones.”
“Lyrically this song is about following someone going through a rough time,” he adds, “and following that person trying to find some peace—how it becomes a part of your life too, and that it’s worth it. It’s okay.”
After releasing two teaser singles in early 2018, follow-up single ‘Two Diamonds’ in early 2019, and road testing their new songs on tours with both Buffalo Tom and Night Flowers, the band are also pleased to announce a run of UK/EU tour dates including a support slot with The Futureheads at The Concorde in Brighton on 30th May.
A vital reimagining of the band’s studio sound to bring it firmly into line with their impressive live set, Peace Jazz and its accompanying singles have received praise and coverage from NPR, Apple Music, Q Magazine, Norway’s biggest tabloid Verdens Gang, Norwegian national radio station NRK P13, Amazing Radio, Record Of The Day, The 405, Magnet, The Line of Best Fit, God Is In The TV, For The Rabbits, Popklikk, and The Soundboard.
