Dundee alt rock newcomers Red Vanilla are delighted to announce that they will release their debut EP Days of Grey on 7th June 2024 on all good digital service providers.
To celebrate the news, the band have revealed the official music video for lead single ‘All These Better Things’ which is released on 21st February 2024, and the quartet will be playing a special hometown EP release show in Dundee on 8th June 2024.
"’All These Better Things’ is a song that sums us up as a band perfectly,” says drummer George. “When we were recording the EP, our producer Kieran Smith asked if we wanted the EP produced like a ‘90s record, since the songwriting is inspired by that decade of music. I said to him that actually it'd be great if he would produce it like a modern metal record, because we love the sound of the huge drums and more modern recording techniques."
Dundee newcomers Red Vanilla are in the midst of an identity bloom. Through their impassioned choruses, and notably in the explosive finale of new single ‘All These Better Things’, the band are striving relentlessly to bury the belittling opinions of any doubters, and flourishing in the liberty that their newfound inner strength has brought them.
“This band is the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing before I fall asleep at night,” says vocalist Anna Forsyth. “I’ve fantasised about life in a band ever since I was a kid, so releasing music like this with my best friends is a dream come true, and we’re just at the very beginning. I’m so proud of this EP, and equally as excited for everything yet to come.”
Red Vanilla’s densely, guitar-driven sound is elegantly wrapped in ‘90s inspired pop-hook vocals, and the band have been slowly and steadily cutting their teeth on the road over the past few years, gathering pace as they hone their polished radio-ready rock sound.
They appeared at Outwith Festival 2022 alongside Fatherson and Pulled Apart By Horses, and have also played shows with fast-rising contemporaries in Reminders, Beach Riot, and Redwood.
The band released their debut single ‘Embers’ in 2022 and have spent the past 18 months readying the reveal of their forthcoming debut collection of material, with their first EP set for release later this year. A tightly wound and packaged collection of searing alt-rock songwriting, it’s certain to mark them out as a bold new Scottish voice to keep tabs on.
Further EP details and live dates TBA over the coming months.
