THIS LIFE Open Up About Borderline Personality Disorder In Video For New Single

11th March 2019

Following a support slot with Emarosa earlier this year, London, UK-based alternative rock newcomers THIS LIFE are pleased to present the video for their latest single, ‘My Love’. The track is out now on all good digital service providers.

The band will be playing a clutch of live shows throughout April and May 2019 alongside The Dirty YouthDream State and As Everything Unfolds(see below for full dates).

New single ‘My Love’ presents a very honest account of living with Borderline Personality Disorder, something that outspoken frontman and mental health advocate William Ellis has been learning to cope with for many years.

“This is a song all about the relationships I’ve sometimes gotten myself into out of a feeling of necessity to not be on my own,” explains Ellis of his experiences. “When you’ve got BPD and you’re in a relationship, you can switch from that other person being everything to you to an all-out hatred of them, and it’s a repeating cycle. The only way to break that cycle is to start loving yourself.

“The song’s also about how you can find yourself hiding away from close friends and family in these relationships. Everyone should know that the greatest love they should have in their life is with themselves. You won’t be able to share yourself with someone else until you have found what you’re looking for in yourself.”

Drawing influence from a range of acts such as Taking Back Sunday, Thursday and Funeral For A Friend to name a few, the new single is another intriguing string to the bow of the band. With a propensity for combining the extremely personal and heartfelt messages contained within vocalist William Ellis’s lyrics with anthemic chorus lines, THIS LIFE are proving themselves to be often an emotional and intense listen.

The band entered the studio earlier in 2018 to record a select few tracks with George Daly at The Ranch Production House (Creeper, Milk Teeth, Funeral For A Friend) in Southampton, and the single was mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (Thrice, Smith Street Band, Fleetwood Mac).

Previous single ‘I’d Lie About Almost Anything’ was premiered on Kerrang! Radio by Alex Baker on the FRESH BLOOD new music show, with the band receiving early praise from rock blogs Already Heard, Bring The Noise, Pure Grain Audio and more.
