Rotterdam indie-rock quartet Elephant are pleased to announce that they will release their new single ‘About You’ on 21st October 2026 via V2 Records.

Commenting on the track the band said: “We feel like we have written our first perfect song. It has everything we love about making music, and somehow everything just fell into place. Recording at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales brought out something we’d been looking for in our sound for years. There’s a certain magic to the place, which we feel is captured in the raw and powerful sound of ‘About You’.”

To celebrate the release, the band will play a special single release party in The Hague, before supporting Dutch rock royalty DI-RECT on two of their upcoming arena dates in Rotterdam (see below for listings).

The first taste of a new body of work coming from the band next year—with further details to be announced over the coming months—at its heart, Elephant’s new single ‘About You’ is a bittersweet song about longing for a time when love, and life itself, felt lighter and simpler.

That nostalgia runs through the sound as well, with the ’90s never far away. Fittingly, the song was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales with engineer Nick Brine, the very same studio/engineer combination behind Oasis’ smash hit record (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? thirty years earlier.

On ‘About You’, Elephant sound more like themselves than ever before. Everything that has always defined the band is still there: the warmth, the melodies and the laid-back vocals. But this time, there’s a new sense of urgency underneath it all. It sounds bigger, sharper and more alive, as if everything has finally fallen into place.

Elephant are the gentle giants of Dutch indie rock. With their acclaimed debut Big Thing (2022), the Rotterdam four-piece built their sound around a seemingly effortless blend of melodic guitars and laid-back vocals. But underneath, there was always something darker and melancholic. On their 2025 album III, Elephant dialed up the volume and won over crowds at major stages including Lowlands, Pinkpop and Best Kept Secret.

A European tour with indie icons Nada Surf led to an invitation from producer Ian Laughton (Nada Surf, Ash) to record at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Wales. Together with Laughton and Nick Brine (Oasis, The Stone Roses), Elephant captured their true essence. Their new single, ‘About You’, delivers a massive, urgent sound.

This is Elephant at their absolute best: bigger, sharper, and completely unstoppable.
