BEARS IN TREES Toast Friendship During Hard Times In Beautiful Video For New Single ‘Little Cellist’

11th November 2021

South London based “dirtbag boyband” social media sensations, Bears In Trees, are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Little Cellist’ which is released 5th November 2021.

The track is the latest to be taken from their recently-announced debut studio album, and everybody else smiled back, released 19th November 2021 through Counter Intuitive Records.

Alongside the new single, the band are delighted to announce a run of February 2022 UK headline tour dates with tickets on sale now (see below for listings), including their biggest London show to date at Electric Ballroom on 22nd February 2022.

Premium tickets are available which include a signed poster, and the band are currently running a competition on socials for holders of tickets bought in the first week to win a chance to meet the band before the show.

Commenting on ‘Little Cellist’, vocalist/bassist Iain Gillespie says: “This is a story about me and a good friend of mine. She plays cello. She found me in a godawful state, which finally began my treatment journey for my mental health. I was lying on the floor of the student union building; me finally opening up to her allowed her to open up to me and we became each other’s shoulder to cry on. And she kept me safe during some very hard times.”

Of the video, director Jamie Benyon said: “Bears In Trees created a beautifully poetic song, which demanded a powerful story and distinct images to convey the piece’s particular tone. We settled on a surreal world, employing reversed digital photography whilst intercutting with the nostalgic feel of Super 8, to replicate the experience of memory. Making the music video to the ‘Little Cellist’ has been one of the most challenging and creatively fulfilling filmmaking experiences in my career and I think we created something really special.”

The track follows on from previous singles ‘Great Heights’ and ‘I’m Doing Push Ups’ released earlier this year, whilst earlier this summer the band released their standalone double AA single ‘Flower Through Concrete’—fans can stream the songs ‘Fresh Concrete’ and ‘Evergreen’ on their preferred music streaming service here.

Despite a huge following on social media and streaming services leading to an already impressively hungry fanbase, the tracks saw the band picking up their first UK and international attention from press with the likes of BBC 6music, Rock Sound, Gold Flake Paint, Vanyaland, Brooklyn Vegan, CLASH, Louder Than War and a host of blogs pledge their support for the band.

Bears In Trees come fresh from recent support slots with YouTube sensation Noah Finnce, not to mention selling out their own debut headline UK tour dates in July 2021 during a global pandemic (including a 500 cap London show), with international tour dates TBA.
