Dublin-based indie-pop/alt-folk newcomer Danxgerous (aka Italian/Czech songwriter Daniela “Dan” Mariti) is pleased to return today with her new single ‘Disillusionment’ set for release on 3rd September 2026.

Alongside new music, Danxgerous is also delighted to announce a run of October/November 2026 UK + EU headline tour dates, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).

In keeping with the new track’s lyrics, a gossamer web of voices overlap and slide into a world of illusion and fantasy, which Mariti uses to reveal a truth not completely clear to everybody else, as if she somehow was the possessor of a trick that both makes life sweeter, yet simultaneously more difficult.

Composed of ethereal and urgent guitars, charged drums, and blended together by sharp, psychedelic synths, the single aims to remind the listener of a peculiar frequency first tuned into by mistake.

Commenting on the themes of the track, Danxgerous says: “Disillusionment can be a whole other planet—somewhere to float unbothered and quietly soak in warm waters, where the mind finds comfort in daydreaming and creating imaginary scenarios to indulge in dreams and deceptive realities. Gliding through islands, songs and falling stars that could easily be something else entirely, but the disillusioned artist will stick to her perception.”

The track comes with an official music video directed by Giulia Hrvatin that takes place in a city soaked in a golden-pink haze, turning the realistic and vivid setting into a whimsical and glowing otherworld, and following the journey of a lost old soul who finds herself catapulted into a modern city, fallen from the sky to a place she’s not familiar with.

The track is the latest to be taken from her debut album Old Soul, set for release on 16th October 2026 via independent label We Were Never Being Boring.

Recorded and produced at Foghorn Sounds, El Granada in California by Samuele Jack Palazzi and Riccardo Cacciarella, the album features drums and percussions by Mara Graziano, mixed by Steve Lyon at Panic Button Studios, London and Case NewComb at Hyde Street Studios, San Francisco, with mastering by Katie Tavini at Weird Jungle.

The forthcoming debut is a journey into the psyche of an old soul navigating the modern world, exploring fear, responsibility, mystical dreams, and the connection to nature and love. With melancholic fingerpicked guitars, driving rhythms, and ethereal atmospheres, Danxgerous builds a musical world that is at once luminous, magical, and deeply emotional—a true sonic universe in which every listener can lose and find themselves.

Starting 2026 with a special promotion and preview at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this year, with the looming reveal of her debut, Danxgerous finally affirms her artistic identity: a voice that looks to the past with nostalgia and to the future with wonder, creating music that is simultaneously personal, universal, and timeless.
