Making Monsters Reveal ‘Call Me Out’ Video

30th June 2016

Following the release of their critically acclaimed EP ‘Bad Blood’ (out now on All About Live Records) Northern Ireland’s Derry-based alt-rock four piece Making Monsters are extremely pleased to reveal the new video for their latest single ‘Call Me Out’ alongside news of their appearance on the BBC Introducing Stage at this year’s T In The Park 2016 in Perthshire, Scotland on 7th – 10th July.

The video was directed and filmed by Darren Lee of Maverick Renegade Productions, shot on location in their native homeland.

“For this video we wanted to go for a post-apocalyptic theme that lent itself to the more stadium-rock-anthem elements on this track, so we did some research on unusual locations to tie in” comment the band on shooting the new visuals “A friend suggested an old World War 2 Radio Control Station he photographed a few years back, we checked it out and knew it was perfect for what we had in mind. There was a real eerie vibe on set, from creepy quotes sprayed on the walls to the hundreds of crows surrounding the buildings which can be seen in the video.”

Vocalist Emma Gallagher explains of the track itself: “The song is about finally coming to terms with the fact that someone is a complete waste of time, voicing opinions and sticking up for yourself. A short romantic spell that’s meaningless, questioning who really is at fault in the matter.”

The band recently capped off a headline tour in support of the new record with a performance at Camden Rocks Festival in London, with details of further UK live dates TBA.

Having spent the last three years sharpening their live show on the road throughout the UK and Ireland with bands such as Young Guns, Silverstein, We Came As Romans, Max Raptor, Skindred, Fightstar and Arcane Roots, the reception for their latest EP ‘Bad Blood’ surpassed all expectation. The band have so far received gushing praise from the likes of BBC Radio 1, Kerrang! Magazine, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer, Team Rock, Powerplay Magazine, Scuzz TV, Punktastic, AlreadyHeard, Deadpress! and many more.

Their debut single ‘Better’ picked up spins from Daniel P Carter and Phil Taggart at BBCR1 and was subsequently picked as BBC Introducing tip of the week and played on almost all 36 local BBC radio shows, as well as on Tom Robinson’s BBC6 Music show. The track entered the Kerrang! charts at #14 and the video was added to the main playlists for both Kerrang! TV and Scuzz TV.

Citing influence from the likes of Deftones, Basement, Alexisonfire, Arcane Roots, MuteMath, Taking Back Sunday and Night Verses, their diverse and uniquely organic brand of rock looks fixed to set them apart from the pack of rising hopefuls in 2016.
