MURMAN Announce New Single ‘Falling Down’ Released 17th June 2022

17th June 2022

Brighton/London cowboy-chic, indie-rock quartet MURMAN are pleased to announce they will release their new single ‘Falling Down’ on 17th June 2022.

The single launch party will be hosted at Paper Dress Vintage, London on the 17th June 2022, with support from Yumi and the Weather, Petty Phase, and The Deadly Nightshades (see below for full live listings).

Following on from the anthemic ‘Baptism’, the track is the second single the band have released so far this year and it’s arguably their strongest yet, boasting an expansive, ever-evolving sound.

Commenting on the track, the band say: “We’ve been playing ‘Falling Down’ at our shows and it’s a crowd favourite. It’s one of those songs that just sticks with you and you keep hearing in your head. We feel incredibly privileged to have collaborated with extraordinarily talented people like Josh Hayward (The Horrors) who worked with us in the studio, Garmo Mandica who mixed and produced the song, and Swedish vocalist Wiktoria who is featured on backing vocals on the track. This is our best work so far!”

“I’m a big fan of Blondie,” adds front man David Murdoch. “I remember hearing ‘Dreaming’ for the first time and it was like a kick to the gut. I wanted ‘Falling Down’ to have that same impact.”

Merging modern indie with retrospective influences in masterful fashion, the new single takes cues from The Hives, Jack White, and more, all blending into one high octane package. From beginning to end ‘Falling Down’ is a treasure trove of pure rock ‘n’ roll goodness.

Hailing from Brighton and London, MURMAN are a four-piece putting out dazzling songs that leave an indelible mark on their listeners. Their influences include Joy Division, Bruce Springsteen, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Idles, Gang of Youths

The quartet—consisting of frontman David Murduch, drummer Abbi Knell, guitarist Dom Corapi and bassist Felix Paillette—have been causing a stir on the capital’s underground music scene since 2019 with their unforgettable, flamboyant live performances.

Originally formed in an unlikely meeting through a GumTree ad, the band have since performed at some of London’s most iconic venues such as The Scala and Camden Assembly alongside Lucia & The Best Boys, ShitKid, and Porridge Radio, and worked with the likes of David M. Allen (The Cure, Neneh Cherry) and Josh Hayward (The Horrors).

MURMAN are living, breathing proof that guitar music is still very much alive and well. All tied together around front man David Murdoch’s standout crooning vocal, this is the sound of a band hungry to be heard—if you’re not tuning in now then you’re missing out.

‘Falling Down’ is released 17th June 2022
