NIGHT OWLS Return With New Single ‘Out Of My Head’

23rd June 2017

Leeds-based trio NIGHT OWLS are pleased to announce their return with brand new single ‘Out of My Head’ out now via Till Deaf Do us Party Records.

Listen and share:

The band play a special single launch show on 24th June in their home town of Leeds  at Hyde Park Book Club, with support coming from La Bête Blooms and Treeboy & Arc.

Recorded at The Nave with Alex Greaves (Forever Cult), the new material examines different types of relationships: girlfriends, ex-girlfriends, best friends and even a boomerang. Yeah, we’ve got no idea either.

After laying low for the past few months concentrating on writing a batch of new material and building on their fledgling success, the band are also pleased to reveal a new line-up after the addition of drummer Dom Reed who joins the fold as their sound and live show expands to grow comfortably into the potential that press and radio were keen to point out at an early stage.

Front man Will Pollard says the band’s evolving line-up was a result of “wanting to sound like the fuckin’ filthiest, fattest thing you’ve ever heard live in your life. Turning into a three piece was an obvious choice. Then we met Dom, fell in love and never looked back.”

Taking a leaf out of the shoegaze scene handbook, the new single sees them taking a doped-up, dreamy and melodically obtuse approach to their raucous, serrated grunge-pop that’s drawn early acclaim from the likes of Louder Than War, The Skinny, UPSET Magazine, Artrocker, Getintothis and more.

Following on from their well-received 2016 debut EP ‘Informaldehyde’, the new material builds handsomely on the fuzz-drenched, slacker-influenced grunge pop that saw them gain early press attention and festival slots last summer, pointing to an evolving and deepening new direction for the three piece.
